From Candlelight Records:

"Indian metal pioneers Demonic Resurrection have added another accolade to their already impressive list of achievements by winning the Global Metal award at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2010 in London, UK on 14th June. Metal Hammer is one of the most prestigious heavy metal magazines in the world and the Golden Gods are their flagship awards for metal achievers across the world and are considered the most important heavy metal awards. In the past, the recipients of these awards have included bands like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Slipknot and Anthrax among others.

Demonic Resurrection is the only band from India to ever have won a Golden God award, made all the more significant by the fact that they beat bands from all over the world to claim it. The complete list of winners on www.metalhammer.co.uk

Demonic Resurrection also returned to India to win the Best Song and Best Album Awards at the Rolling Stone Metal Awards held on 20th July in Mumbai where they also performed at the awards.

2010 has already been an eventful year for the band who have just completed a decade-long career in heavy metal. Earlier this year, the band played the Inferno Festival in Norway, another first for an Indian band and shortly after were signed to Candlelight Records, one of the five biggest record labels for extreme metal. The band will also play the Brutal Assault Festival in August in the Czech Republic, alongside some of the biggest names in metal including Cannibal Corpse, Meshuggah, Fear Factory and Children of Bodom. The band also made an appearance in filmmaker Sam Dunn’s seminal documentary Global Metal as pioneers and forerunners of the Indian metal scene."
