Another New DEFTONES Song Released

DEFTONES have released a new song titled "Tempest" off their upcoming album "Koi No Yokan," out November 13th via Reprise Records.

Last month, the band released the first song off "Koi No Yokan" titled "Leathers," which you can stream, here. The new song "Tempest" is is also pretty good, with it's dirty prog vibe, it somehow reminds me of Tool; maybe it's the violent mood swings singer Chino Moreno provides throughout the song, from soothing to over-the-top screams from-the-lungs.

When asked about "Koi No Yokan," Moreno had this to say:

"It's not a super fast or slow record. It's very dynamic. Some of my favorite things about Deftones are the dynamics. Yes, we're a heavy band, but we're not just in-your-face aggro the whole time, punching you in the face. There's a lot of aggression in some of the music, but there's also this very soothing element where there's a lot of soundscapes rather than attack, attack, attack the whole time."

"I understand that's a big part of our sound, but I really feel like we reached a peak on our dynamics on this record with those two qualities, the beauty of something and just straight, ruthless aggression."

Deftones will head out on a full U.S. tour in-support of "Koi No Yokan" this winter. Dates are yet to be confirmed.
