Sweden's Sister Sin are a reminder that the 80s were responsible for some of the best metal releases to date. But the band is much more than just a retro act, Sister Sin have musical chops all around. They take 80s hair metal anthems and blend them with the raw and dirty Rock N' Roll vibe of bands like Motorhead and Judas Priest.

Imagine Motorhead, Judas Priest, and Motley Crue miraculously working on music together (it won't happen, Lemmy will probably punch Vince Neil in the chin. But, if it were to happen), it would probably sound something like Sister Sin.

Sister Sin is a bastard metal child conceived in Gothenburg, Sweden. The band is about to release a new album titled "Now and Forever" (out October 23rd via Victory Records), and it continues the dirty, pissed attitude of the band's previous efforts; topped with a ton of melting hooks all around. Front woman Liv Jagrell is back and she's more pissed at posers and wannabes than ever before. While I might sound cheesy saying that, once you blast songs like "Hang 'Em High," and "The Chosen Few" you'll be drowning in killer hooks all around.

Guitarist Jimmy Hiltula once again shines at belting out classic 80s riffs with the technicality of modern metal, songs like "In It For Life" will remain stuck in your head hours after you're done listening, and "Hearts of Cold" slays the most infectious chorus on the record.

When I received a promo copy of the new album from Victory Records, I was on-board to review it right away, mainly because I was curious to see how the band has shaped-up since their previous release, and it definitely lives up to its predecessor; showing off more colors.

In an overall deal "Now and Forever" lives up to the band's previous efforts, and takes their sound to a blasting new level. I was a little surprised by closing ballad "Morning After", but its heartfelt and honest nature show a genuine quality, missing in most of today's music.

Sister Sin continue to prove that the glory days of Metal are not gone, and that sweet licks and killer drum fills still rule! And if you say "fuck you!" to the man, people will raise their horns in approval. If you are one that still enjoys spandex metal but want it to have balls, there's no better way than to have front woman Liv show you how it's done!

Sister Sin will embark on a full U.S. tour with heavy metal's iconic diva, Doro, starting February 1st (find dates here). The band will also be releasing a new video for the single "End of the Line" on October 15th.
